Culty bus of Love and Opossum in the Park

Ahh last blog post of 2017 I guess! Been so busy lately I have been neglecting my duties here. I bought that horrible calendar to get even with John for the horrible one he bought last year for us. I kinda forgot I will have to suffer through it too. Sob. I am also upset John threw out my lovely BOX that I had so much fun playing in. That thing held a baritone ukulele case for Crumb when he comes in April and we play the brooklyn folk fest with him. I got my annual chanukah candles and tin menorah from the Mitzvah Tank bus. When you assemble that thing it's so cheap it just breaks when you try and put the candles in it. Under that is the new addition to the wildlife in Tompkins Square Opossum has made it's home in a tree by Ave B and 9th and it's the cutest thing. I have a video I will post of it plus some videos of this weird hippie bus that was parked by the park with a live band on top of it playing music. I googled it and it's the Abracadabra Field Trip bus or something...they drove off with people on top if it and tree branches were smacking them in the face. Whole thing was pretty funny all of us dancing around to the Jackson Five and cheesy Xmas songs...
John got me that handmade pen as part of my Xmas gifts...I love it. I've been writing a lot lately. It's Game of Thrones themed with scales on it and tigers eye on the top. Love it. Huge party for New Years Eve tomorrow night at Csquat so that should be fun. This weather is horrifying me but like Trump tweeted it's proof there is no global warming! Sigh...One hilarious thing this week is the Viceland segment I was in for some show called Slutever has been airing every hour I hear. I caught it once and I am just happy that Dave with Cookie is in it. We made them wait for him to come to the dog run to interview him. He happened to be wearing a shirt with a Viagra joke on it and the segment is about happy ending massage parlors for women. I think I laughed for an entire hour the whole time they were talking to him.

Waggytail Rescue group!

So lately I have been volunteering for WaggyTail Rescue a small dog rescue group run by my good friend Holly who was recently featured on in their Out and About feature. She is just a saint taking dogs off of high kill shelters who are on death row and flying them to nyc where she finds them fosters and then forever homes. If you want a small dog or know someone who does there is no one better than Waggytail! Here are some pics from our holiday party at Lucky Bar on Avenue B a few days ago.
And many dogs coming in this week before the holidays!

East Village Arts fest and Poetry Project.

I am so cultured that I went to TWO art fests this week! It was so so bitterly cold last night I was glad the events I went to were nearby cause I sure didn't feel like being out anywhere far from my place. The Tompkins library had live music in the basement, classes on African Beading, gardening, broadway show tunes, the Celtic band Avon Faire and much more that went on from 11am onward and it was pretty cool. I like when the library has weird stuff going on like my friend is playing there tomorrow for their full album night where his band will do the entire Nirvana Unplugged record.
I took a few videos at the library...really loved the book tree they had up! Then I went to see my bookseller friend Jen read at the St Marks Church after as part of the Poetry Project she helped create. Booksellers set up their tables and read from some of their favorite was a nice little scene in there of people who love books and make a living with them. Like the library, the St Marks Church always has interesting events happening and during Occupy Wall St they let people camp there and use their bathroom. John and I played there once along with some punk  bands thus I dubbed the place Punk Rock Church as they are pretty fun and funky for a church.
Here are some pics and some videos from these two events. I was so proud of myself for going out for so long last night in that cold. Everyone had the same look of shock on their face especially when it started snowing randomly when it got late. It ain't even winter yet dammit!

SantaCon and Non SantaCon

Well, with the snow making my phone almost break documenting SATANcon was just not worth it today. So I have one longish video of the crowd by the 13th step and one pic I thought was funny. My friend Benjamin Cerf was giving me an interview about it all that was interesting but my phone got wet and shut down and I had to give up. By then I was knocked over twice already by drunk santas and yelled at and saw cops giving tickets for public drinking and I was over it all. Same old same old same as it ever was and shouldn't be every damn year.
So I will post the video with a few other pics from around the hood as even making fun of drunken puking santas has lost it's charm. Hopefully some other bloggers got some good footage and i mean good as in bad. Arrests and puking and all the rest! I liked the traveler kids homeless sign it was pretty fancy for spanging..those kids are cool they just busk and hang out. Bert's tits was tweeted and it was a pretty popular tweet...I guess everyone likes Bert AND kitties both. And i thought the broken piece of a 78rpm record on our block was funny cause it's the era and label John likes and it was like someone was leading him away from home using 78s as breadcrumbs...John dreams of finding some old lady or old man's collection thrown out on the street so I am always on the lookout for record trash. Shellac, not that vinyl hipster shit everyone loves again. Yeah.
