Ray's 85th Burlesque Birthday Bash!

It was Ray's birthday once again and since he turned 85 they decided to have an 80's themed party this time! My videos are dark and not too great as I was up front and it was hard to get the dancers in the shots all the time but I did take a bunch and also some pics too. It was really packed this year with some people having to view the festivities from outside the store. 80's music, 80's clothing, inflatable boombox and HUGE portable cell phone all added to the hilarity. So happy this fun tradition lives on every year and Ray said this was the best one yet. It was really a good one...with cookies and cakes free from from the famous Veniero's as they love Ray too! Also Ray loved that fake boombox and the 80's shades and was dancing to Michael Jackson for a while. PLUS Jimmy Webb from the old Trash and Vaudeville brought Ray a punk rock starter kit from his new shop and Ray had on a studded leather belt and new leather black gloves which he seemed really into as seen in the pics.
I filmed a lot...the intro to it all by Matt Rosen, singing happy birthday to Ray, the dancers of course and more. There were A LOT of people there with pro cameras and I bet evgrieve.com will have a big post up soon with some of those shots. But for now BEHOLD!

Midnight Showing of The Room with Tommy Wiseau!

My wonderful hubby bought us tickets to see The Room at Sunshine Cinema Friday night and all my dreams came true! We bought some great merchandise like my Tommy Wiseau underwear which he signed for me AND John took a video of Tommy saying THE LiNE w/ me!
The night was hysterical and here are some pics and video from it! What a great 2018 so far! The added greatness was Tommy Wiseau retweeted the video so it has hundreds of likes and retweets!
Lots more events all week too!

Somoa Moriki and Kembra Pfahler at Howl Happening

A few nights ago I went to the Howl Happening space to see the incredible art works on display there right now by Somoa Moriki curated by the gorgeous and talented Kembra Pfahler of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black fame...the two have been artistic partners for decades now and this art opening, Candy Coated Evil, was so packed I could barely move! Saw so many people I knew there and that was only the first day...tomorrow they perform together and another night he will be showing some of his film..ending it all with a huge closing party in February.
Some of the paintings hung up there are gigantic...some are tiny and also on display are some of the crazy outfits he wore when they played together. Here are the pics I took and one video walking through the gallery.

Well 2018 has arrived and it's too cold to go outside! The deep freeze is crazy but its going to be 52 next week so do not fear! Or go ahead and fear because this is not normal!
Spent my New Years Eve at Morus Museum at a big fun party...John worked the ball dropping as usual but he's off all week so we have been hiding inside watching movies and playing music.
Been in touch with a lot of people lately and my old friend and traveling partner Spyce sent me the 2 old pics of us. Busking in Tuscon Az and at some rainbow thing possibly in Wyoming. I can really rock that G chord!
On my way over to C squat some people were handing out that pedialyte which I guess is for hangovers. I barely drink so two glasses of wine does me in but that seems kind of gross to me!
One funny thing this month is some show called Slutever on Viceland  interviewed people in the dog run in Tompkins about women getting happy ending massages and my friend Penny and I are in the promo for the show....but best of all Dave is in it wearing a dirty shirt which is great. We told them they had to talk to him and they waited then did. Have no clue when the episode is on and my little soundbite may be all I get but I just want Dave to be in it a lot.
The new year is off to a weird start...Jesse Crumb was in a bad car wreck on new years eve and he passed away a few days later from his severe injuries. Such a shock to everyone...he lived in Oregon with his wife and was driving on a dangerous road it looks like. Sad to call the Crumbs to say happy new year and it turns into a condolence call for the loss of Robert's son. Very shocking and tragic.
I took some videos of the New Years Eve party at C and also taped that Slutever promo...so here ya go..Rude Mechanical Orchestra played at midnight and the whole place danced.
