Well, a few days ago was the hilarious insanity of the Mr. LES Pageant at the Bowery Poetry Club where 13 men competed for the coveted title of Mr LES! There was a talent portion, swimsuit, evening wear and a Q and A. Which basically involved a lot of nudity and things being thrown on to and off of the stage. These wheat pasted non ads are all up and down the astor place area across from the cube..Not sure who is doing them..has a very Banksy feel to it..and i think the cease and desist order from "spaceballs"..hee! is a fake too. A joke layered on top of a joke. Like the Banksy movie. I wish the cube on Astor was still yarned but these fake ads make up for it!

As game of Thrones says..Winter is coming and it is getting cold out..Can't complain much though so far..a few really cold days then t gets in the 40's again..not a bad winter at all compared to last year where we had had like 2 blizzards or something by this time already!

I spent New Years Eve at Csquat drinking wine then on Avenue A running around drunk until I found an 80's dance party somehow at Niagara bar..All I wanted was to dance to cheesy 80's music for New Years Eve and it happened! Like a christmas miracle! Thank you baby Jesus!

Looking forward to the new year of Doom very much! About a quarter of the way done with recording new album and I start french classes at the French Alliance next week...I plan on keeping very busy and doing all kinds of wack shit. Yes, you heard me. WACK SHIT!

Well, I have been woefully lazy about blogging lately. However I am still here and will try to do better! With the weather change I just am not wandering around taking pics as much and i don't want the blog to be all about recording a new album which is pretty much what I have been doing, along with learning new songs and practicing a bunch. Someone is sending me their old uke they don't need anymore..it is beautiful! They built it themselves in the Kay Kraft style so it's pretty unique..I'll be linking his site when I get it and showing it off..

I have gone to many an xmas event and party in the past week..waiting for New Years Eve to get super drunk and then I shall be very responsible and shall be working a lot and learning French and guitar and all..

So this is my holiday post! People better stop saying "happy holidaze" on facebook or I will kill them all. Not funny. Not funny. Not funny. But i have this pic of Jewels on Avenue A during Santa Con wearing a wig! That night was so annoying. It is like a big frat party every year and my friends who bartend hate it..No one is tipping and they are so drunk the santas are puking all over the streets. and they are very touchy feely as in groping and grabbing me and every girl on the street.

The second pic is my dumb cat staring at the shadow of a bird while the actual bird is right in front of him which he does not see. That pagan pic got me a warning for posting it on facebook for nudity. heh. And I uploaded a short video of drunk santas massing with me on St Marks..Happy Holi-Duh!

That lady was at an Occupy WS artist benefit at Theatre For the New City a month ago..that's how far behind I am with this blog lately! However, I will do better from now on. I have accepted that it is now winter and even bought a pink fuzzy winter coat with a corset and bustle on the back. Yup! I'm crazy! But my new coat is awesome. I don't mind the winter so far..lots of stuff going on and I am working and making dough a lot more lately which means I am getting myself the most amazing, circus-like wardrobe in the world. Also, saving up for summer in Europe! I hate cold weather but I am having a pretty awesome winter(all) so far..and thus it was good..

Okay, so these pics and interview are from..damn..almost a month ago?! I am waaay behind blogging and have not even been to any OWS demos for a few weeks..recording new album and trying to make some comedy skits with John and get them on Funny or Die this month. Plus, I am working more and it's cold out dammit! But I will be running around having adventures soon.

East River was not chosen to be in the top 5 Grammy nominations this year(or last year!), but if we were i'd have gone into shock. Eddie Veder has a ukuleke album out and was in the Folk categoy. WTF!? I think he will win. Even Dylan did not make the cut this year.

Anyway, good news with St Marks Bookshop being saved and also Cafe Vivaldi..but I have not read anything or heard anything about whether Cooper Union will start charging students to attend. Here are some pics from a protest some students had and a short interview I did with one of them.

Okay, so if you're on facebook at all you are already tired of the casually pepper spraying cop..but I thought I would do a blog with all my faves to get it out of my system! Here are some good ones and a few weird ones John made to harass me with! What that cop did was just disgusting and I am glad some humor came out of it..I wonder what he thinks when he sees these? His wife..kids..He is famous for being a dick and being made fun of everywhere you turn..Skits about Tony Bologna abound too on youtube and TV. Craziness.

Having a good month..our new LP of Drunken Barrel House is up on ebay and selling well. Street date for Amazon and RedEye is December 6th. Got a nice check from them last week and I kind of went nuts on etsy and bought crazy things. Got a part time job babysitting my niece starting next week..began recording our new album Take A Look At That Baby today and will begin taking french classes at the French Alliance January 9th. I simply have to learn some French before going there in June for two months or I will assume everyone is talking about me. Dammit!

Well, since the Mayor raided Liberty Park and brought in an LRAD(WTF!?) I have been down at the new post Liberty Park a lot...taping videos and seeing what is going to happen next. The march last night was HUGE though the media is saying a "few thousand" people were there trashing stuff and it was bad. Nope. There were over 30,000 people there and it was peaceful and fun. No problems with cops at all and cars were honking and raising fists to show their solidarity with the movement. They somehow set up a projection on a building that kept changing messages which was pretty neat..Here are a mess load of videos from last night..

I am going to post a bunch of videos we took from our last gig at Jalopy Theater in brooklyn..I freaking love Jalopy...they now own the bar Moonshine next door which has food and mixed drinks and will hopefully bring them tons of business as this place is awesome and unique and our favorite place to play..The Complete Record Collection book by R Crumb is now officially out and available at Amazon HERE and is awesome..We are in it thrice plus did the promo video which Norton should have up on youtube tomorrow..It comes in a fake thick record jacket sleeve and has every cover he's ever done.

Things are going good..Sucks that it's so cold already in NYC..maybe it'll get warmer. I miss seeing Bob Arihood around the park and Ray's..seems so weird that he's not there. But I am trying to really learn guitar this winter..not just a few chords, so John can take up mandolin or fiddle in the band..trying to get a reel together still..may start writing my life story soon..working on new album already-have the songs picked out already..and going on tour in June. So hopefully the winter will go by quick..Our last Album is one of 151 nominations being considered for a Grammy..it'll be whittled down to 5 of course and we don't stand a chance but if you happen to be a member of the recording academy..you can vote for us! This Halloween has not even arrived yet and it's killing me and my poor head..Started wednesday really with Rev jen's book party where people had costumes on..then Friday this party at Csquat where I took lotsa pics and some drunk video..bands played and people danced and it was fun as fuck..now I am resting for work tomorrow then there is monday with the parade and all that..almost want it to be over so I can start hitting the gym and lay off the wine a bit. It is freaking SNOWING out there as I write this! What the HEY? I REALLY hope winter is not here already! I am very happy and excited with some good stuff going on in the next few months but I am not ready for snow yet! Some days in the 60's for another month or so would be nice..

Went to the hip and hilarious book signing of Reverend Jen tonight at St Marks Bookshop. I have read some of her new novel Elf Girl..and now have a signed copy..and it seems every bit as good as Live Nude Elf is. Jen is an artist, poet, actress and writer and excels at all. Jonathan Ames of bored to Death fame was there with her along with her BFF Faceboy who pretty much started the open mic scene in NYC. He read a hilarious story about taking a pregnancy test with his friend. Ames did his crazy whistle call and MCd the night and Jen read a few pages from her book. Very funny stuff..Elf Girl is available HERE and I HIGHLY recommend it! Okay, I know I need to blog about something else besides OWS. And i will..i swear..I have tons of stuff going on..been to a lot of shows..played a great show last night..have not been by Ray's or Tompkins much. Been somewhat working a bit..learning new songs for next album..making LP's of our second CD..all kinds of stuff..BUT i went to Liberty Park the other night and a bunch of us went to Symphony Space to meet up with Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie and other folkies who marched with us to Columbus Circle and then jammed and sang "we shall overcome." Sounds cheesy but Seeger is awesome..he did a lot for old time music and for the Hudson River and he is 92 freaking years old and had TWO canes and marched almost 2 miles. While we all surrounded him and took pics, et..

I swear I will post about something else soon but had to get this post in about the MASSIVE global occupation that went on this past Saturday..part of which was a HUGE demo at Times Square which they say about 20,000-50,000 people attended. I was there for many hours and it did grow and grow after 5pm into insanity, I think there were some arrests..maybe 42 all together that day including the Citibank fiasco..Citibank beats ALL other banks and even their customers..heh. Well, I went to Wall St..or rather Liberty Park yesterday at 5pm and stayed up til 9am to see what would transpire since Mayor B. and PC Kelly AND owner of the park said it has to be cleaned and people must be cleared out for 12 hours. They were to be let back in BUT with no sleeping bags, no tarps, no tents and no LAYING DOWN in the park after the cleaning. Gee, wonder if Bloomberg realizes that all these rules may end the camping down there? Har! Anyway, we all stood strong and the cleaning got postponed. Who knows what will happen..If those new rules or possibly old rules that were not enforced before but may now be actually take effect it will be a nightmare of clashes between the police and the protestors. Cops going around ticketing or bothering tired, hungry people that need to lay down and rest? Good luck with that..The energy down there was catching and it felt like a 1960's rally with a victory at the end..here are a load of photos and videos of my crazy, surreal night down there..Oh, and I named the red sculpture Ambrose!

Occupy Wall Street had a big General Assembly in Washington Square Park a few days ago..Here are some pics and videos..Occupy Boston is being shut down right now and the cops are getting a lot of bad press as some videos were taken of them getting aggressive with Veterans for Peace who were there. Vets got arrested and things got violent..Occupy Seattle is trying to hold out but they are facing getting arrested as well..The shit does seem to be hitting the fan..We will see where all this leads. I think Bloomberg is working on a weather machine to try to make it snow so Liberty Park empties out.

So I have been going down to Liberty park pretty often..went to Washington Square today for the General Assembly of Occupy Wall Street. Not sure how long the cops are going to let this go on..Bloomberg seems scared all the people will just be camping in the streets if they get kicked out of the park. I'm enjoying being a part of this loose yet good spirited rise up against shit this is just pissing people off in this country. Their demands may not be met but it's nice to see people taking action and doing SOMETHING about what they see as injustices against the lower class which used to be the middle class i suppose..the 99% versus the 1%? We will see where this all goes..it has spread to at least a dozen other cities now. Here are some pics and videos from the October 5th March which included transit workers, unions and nurses and more..No, it is not just "rich white kids who don't work" down there at all. It is picking up steam. The arguments on facebook about this are insane and some are vicious. People are taking sides and losing friends over arguing over this movement.

I have not had internet access for about two and half days now..Finally back on so I will upload some stuff i'm behind on. Bob had a loose memorial(before the one today in the garden which I missed by an hour..) which met up at Lucy's bar then walked over to Ray's where people spoke about Bob and Ray was presented with a framed photo of Bob and a tribute by Jim Powers, AKA Mosaic Man. It was very touching..I think Bob was looking down at us..the Chico mural..the flowers..and thinking,"Hmm. I just had no idea.." I miss him greatly.

I don't feel like uploading any pics of my wonderful pal Bob Arihood who had this great BLOG. He inspired me to start my own blog when I showed a bit of interest in it and so I did. And here we are. Bob had a wide array of friends and knew practically everyone out on Avenue A and in Tompkins Square Park which he blogged about daily.

He could talk about anything with anyone and was a kind man with a sharp eye for what is going on in the 'hood. Which he captured with amazing photos on his blog. He died a few days ago while I was in Arizona and I regret that the last time I saw him it was raining and we just waved and ran for shelter. I did speak with him a week or so ago in the park..about the new videos he was starting to put on his site..and about changing technology. He was going to give in and get a cell phone..He was one of those No TV, no Cell Phone people..but not in a condescending way..he simply found the street life on Avenue A more interesting. I agree and I will try to take mpre photos at Ray's and in the park in Bob's honor. I will miss him greatly. This sucks.

Well, I am finally hitting the Wall Street protests this week before I go to Arizona for Dom's wedding..Took these videos as I marched and weaved my way through the hippies, anarchists, beatniks, wingnuts, news reporters, cops and all walks of life. I did not see any arrests, though one officer did push a kid who was not on the sidewalk as we marched and were blocking traffic. Anthony Bologna is being investigated now after new videos have surfaced..in slo-mo you can see him pepper spraying people just standing there..not pushing him or being violent in any way.

The police were polite to me..I was filming as were many others..and it was pretty organized. Michael Moore showed up who I don't much care for..but the crowd was happy about it. At any rate it is now getting more press that's for sure..I'll be there tomorrow afternoon.

Sooo..I had the damn flu thingy for almost two weeks and was worried about this gig because I am still hacking away but it was fun..chilly out but no rain and a good crowd for a first time festival. Here are some videos my pal Angry Bob the Comic took for me..Some new stuff that will be on our next album is played with fiddle player Jackson Lynch..Our next album will be called Take a Look at That Baby and R. Crumb will be playing mandolin on it again along with other guests..Good times!

Oh and while we played a group of men in red lingerie ran all around the park and on the stage..and chef Mario Batali was there..i think he sponsored it and he took pics of us and tweeted them..yay!

Here are some truly awe inspiring photos. At least my mom told me they were good. Line up to get your flu shots..at Rite-Aids! Um. Don't think so. The needle exchange may be safer. Then a Ronald McDonald home for kids in Vermont. I cannot fathom the depths of horror that must go on in there. CANNOT. Then my hair being bleached as I wander into a pharmacy and find DIY Paternity tests on sale! YES! And my hair above that looking nice. Shampoo on Avenue B is awesome.

And two videos here..one of stuttering Dave who I very drunkely feed lines to at the new UCB Open Mic..the dirty joke gets cut off unfortunately! And the infamous Don Eng dancing his heart out once again at Bowery Open Mic..Awww..He had a partner this time!

Got some gigs coming up..New Crumb book of his album covers comes out in November..it'll be some great promo for my band..We are in the book three times and did the promo video for it which includes me in a bathtub with saddle shoes on. This will probably be the thing I get known for. Fame is so bittersweet..Got first check from RedEye distro. DAMN! WAY more than I expected for three months! We have some good reviews coming out soon..everything takes soooo long..Hurry up and wait! Had a great summer of travel and hoping for a great fall/winter of gigs and sales!

The new Sidewalk Cafe.

Okay, so i was worried about Sidewalk cafe shutting down and revamping itself like many other old school sort of neighborhood places have done and turning into a scary wine bar like Banjo Jim's will probably do. So I have been by there a few times in the past few weeks and while some of my favorite stuff is no longer on the menu(well, I am the type of person who eats the same damn thing everyday so those items are basically two things), I have to say I feel the same vibe in there that it had before.

The menu is a lot smaller..but they are figuring out what people want, and slowly adding those things back as they get back on track..The nachos are back..possibly the 25 cent wings too..there are $3 PBR's..you can sit in the back at the open mic or whatever music show is going on and not be forced to order anything if you don't want to..THOUGH I WANT TO DRINK! Did I just yell that? Sorry, been sick and on the wagon!

Their breakfast specials are coming back and most of the appetizers are still around $5. So I am happy they are back and I hope people give it a chance. The staff is awesome, my friend bartends there..another pal waitresses, and I just had a fun time hanging out there tonight shooting the shit and it basically felt like old times for me.

Yes, the bar has insane cocktails and spiked milkshakes if you feel the urge to splurge and get all crazy..but it also has cheap beer..cheaper than some of the dive bars that are around actually.

Sure, I liked the old wall decorations...it reminded me of my own place actually! But the important thing is that the vibe I always liked in there is STILL there. I intend to support the place. If it closed down what would replace it? Hmmm..let's see..maybe a Chase Bank? Nah..wait..a Chase Bank? Nah, probably not. I know! A CHASE BANK BY GOLLY!

Alright, I'll shut it now!

But one more thing..if you go to this blog take note that Life Cafe now seems to be possibly closed for good. Beware! Soon there may be no more places where you can sit and eat and read a book outdoors for two hours if you want to!

So, many of you must think because I listen to old timey music and hang around divey, seedy places that I simply must be up on all the new fads going on. But, sadly, I am not. I have just recently learned about Planking which began in Australia I hear..you lay as stiff as a board somewhere weird and have your photo taken. Someone died planking on the ledge of a building or something at some point..and now Owling, perching like an owl somewhere dangerous/weird has taken over..and even Batmanning could be starting..hanging like a bat somewhere odd or unexpected.

Anyway, since I have had the damn flu for five days straight and have been indoors a lot(except for last night where I went to a show where someone owled AND planked and then had wine later)..I have compiled these fun photos of both owling and planking. You will never get the three minutes it will take you to read and look at these pics back. Sorry.

The sad ones are the willow tree in La Plaza which fell..that thing was so old and beautiful..very sad. Other are of the big tree in the center of Tompkins that fell on the grass..took them a while to chop and remove it.

The amusing ones are my new obsession with the rats in the park. One had a huge chunk of bread and was really trying hard not to share with the others..who were NOT having it. It was a tug of war and a test of wills. Did it symbolize our struggle with life? Our fight against our baser instincts? Oh, who cares. Rats are cool, bitches!

Hello survivors of HurriLame Nyc 2011! I just went out and walked around in the balmy breeze and took a few shots..Some restaurant was taking the tape off their windows..Ray's is open, 7A and many non-chain eateries. I even found a sushi place open! If I get food poisoning at least I will lose that damn 6 lbs I can't seem to shake.

That bus that says Hurricane Shelter was on my street by the 9th precinct for much of the night. It seemed to be empty. I did not see a stripper pole or anything. The cops did seem to be very pretty busy last night..I guess a lot of calls came in for help.

BUT check out the amazing rat footage I took outside of tompkins square park! They are out in broad daylight partying down! People passing by were shocked how close the rats were to Avenue A..The park still being closed had all of its creatures out and about..Ahhh.nature!

Well, I am back from Rhode Island all relaxed and tan and feeling good. Almost every day was a great beach day up until they told us to leave due to the weather coming in. Those days would have been a bit dull anyway..so it was perfect. Friday was the nicest beach day there and we left at 9pm that night. This was a nice ending to a freaking fun summer..

So here are some pics from RI..it is good to be back before this storm hits if it even does. Right now it is just raining and a bit windy. Here's a video even of the water there as it got choppier on the last night..

I got HBO stuff taped and SATAN will be forcing me to watch the VMA's tomorrow and make a running, very mean, bitter profanity laden commentary through the entire thing! Well, I tried to upload some pretty photos I took in Vermont but blogger is not letting me. Much like facebook which annoyed me all week. My cell number was on display and I got weird texts from strangers, everyone I had blocked became unblocked(well about 3 people), and I couldn't send email or IM people. First world problems, but nonetheless, annoying as shit.

But blogger DID let me upload these simply INCREDIBLE pics from my phone!

The first is my fave...some troll graffiti that is cropping up all over the place..look at the detail! It looks just like me in the morning.Then I thought this frozen pizza was funny that I saw in Italy a few weeks ago. Then a great stained glass with coper tree in it window pane my friends had in their place in Vermont.

A defaced sign which is fairly clever and proof that my friends and I are drunks from the many glasses we had of beer at Lolita bar last week. Diary of an Oxygen Thief.

The above video is a promo for a novel I just finished reading. The author lives in the East Village..well Lower East Side really and I like to support local artists and authors who are creative and doing well. The book, Diary of an Oxygen Thief, was a great read. The author published it under the name Anonymous which I immediately liked...you truly do feel like you are reading someone's personal diary. An Everyman but one whom you both like and hate at the same time. Told in the first person, Anonymous is an abusive alcoholic who, in the end, gets some payback.

As a woman, you have met guys like him. As a man, maybe you have BEEN him. He's cruel yet honest. And the book is loaded with humor. At times I was cracking up, other times i was thinking "I can't wait until this guy gets his!"

The novel had a surreal feel to it for me. I read it in one sitting just about, and I, myself, felt like I was in an alcoholic haze through some parts of it..Was what the main character going through actually happening? Is he crazy/paranoid or just stating the facts? He is drunk much of the time and I felt disoriented reading it. Which is a good thing. I got my copy on Amazon and I recommend this book for anyone who has been hurt, been a hurtful person, and has dealt with alcoholism. Which is everyone I know!

So...thus far this summer has been pretty good to me. A trip to Italy, going to Vermont to play this weekend(and hike and swim with friends!), and then going to Rhode Island to beach it for a week. Then a fun music type wedding in Arizona in September...and a trip to ithaca to be in a student film hopefully! I cannot complain though I long to..I want to bitch dammit! But I even like the heat.

But all this good stuff means I have not been around much to update about local events and such. I haven't even walked by that damn Guggenheim lab thing yet and it's 4 blocks away! Is this what being an adult is like? Wah! But I went to a fun triple birthday party last night and got trashed. I recall dancing to 80's and a lot of wine.

I made it out to Tompkins today for the last part of the Riot Show..So first is a pic of a weird flyer I saw. Don't know what its about but I like conjoined anything! Then some punks in the pit during a bands set..didn't get the name of the band though I took a short video of them.

Then me having fun on the Monkey-Go-Round on thursday during free film night. Rise of the Apes sucked ass..not even worth seeing it to make fun of it..Bah!

And look! Delgado my cat is STILL dumb! And getting crazier and fatter! He will be sad i'm leaving town again soon. But it obviously does not stop him from eating that fucking fanccy feast crap he loves!

Okay, so I uploaded a video..a REALLY FUCKING boring video of John and I eating the staples of Italy. No, not stapler staples though i've been tempted at times..but pasta and pizza. Usually I would avoid writing about what I eat. There shall be nary a "nom nom nom" on this blog. Unless you truly make that noise when you eat then kindly shut it! But it's pizza and pasta..all we needed was some Nutella® to cap off the somewhat mediocre meal.

And...some pics I found in my phone. Have been busy with playing gigs and working and stuff..I miss wandering about and taking pics of weird shit..but that'll be happening this week IN the meantime..I went and saw Sir Paul M at Yankee Stadium and there was a lone jesus freak outside preaching about..wait for it..JESUS! Why can't he just Let It Be? Hardy. Har. Har.

AND tomorrow is the day NO ONE has been waiting for! The Ninth Precinct's Night Out Against Crime! Actually, it's kinda fun. There is a cop on stilts and some bad band playing usually. I got a gig tomorrow at Union Pool at The Moon Comedy Show so I will miss the cops partying. It's worth it to see the one on stilts though.

Well, I have no pics of rats to join in on the TSP Ratstravaganza that is going on over at neithermorenorless.blogspot.com and evgrieve.com right now. I certainly have SEEN hundreds of rats in the trash bags by the bathrooms in the park and some even out during the day just running around eating leftover food. If the park were kept a little cleaner with people throwing out their trash I guess it could help. It doesn't bother me too much. They are scared of people and are not going to eat anyone's damn baby at the playground. Unless their leader demands a sacrifice so their crops will grow next year. That is understandable.

AnyRat, been trying to play a lot of gigs and been busy hanging out with Aline Crumb and seeing movies and doing fun stuff every day. There are SO many shows and pilots filming right now..I apply for extra work on them all but with the tats and hair I only get called when they need "east village" "freaky artsy" types. I think I could do well in some weird type film like a Harmony Korine one but I got no connections. I am but a lowly extra...however I did make some connections in Italy and will be spending two months in Europe next summer and if anyone knows of any festivals that would like my band or places to play at, feel free to write me. The more paying gigs we get, the longer we can stay. Any kind of pay at all. I will go there and sell authentic NYC rats if need be.

Here are some more pics from Italy...Hoping to book lotsa gigs there and around there...and stay for the whole summer next year. I want to see more of Europe! I need some leads and connections to get some gigs, especially on the festival circuit. Bands play every weekend in some towns and villages in Spain, France, Italy all summer. They seem to love American music and old timey stuff.

It's VERY hot in this city now. I like it though. I am a "summer" person and it sure feels like summer out there right now! And sort of like hades! Whatever. I'm tan and if I ignore skin cancer it will go away!

Very sad about Mars bar closing...wondering where all the regulars are going now. I haven't checked out any likely substitute bars yet. Been too busy and not drinking that much. Aline Crumb is in town and between that, working, practicing for gigs and trying to do as much summer roaming and adventuring as I can fit in-I have not had too much alcohol in my system. Hangovers do suck when it's 100 degrees out...Think we will be playing in Vermont next..after a gig or two at Jalopy Theatre.

Mars bar is officially closed now. I am so glad i went last night and had a blast with my friends: Tim Shea, Amy, Juggernut and others. I will try to find some pics now to upload as I didn't take any last night. It was a fun, mellow evening with a vibe of "this is the end" in the air for some reason and I enjoyed every minute of it. I will miss this place more than any normal person should miss a bar considering I don't much care for bars really..but this one was special!

So, I am unfortunately back already from Europe..wanted and hoped to stay longer but alas..we did make some connections and may spend all of next spring and part of summer playing gigs all over Italy and other places..Had a great time, played fun gigs with R. Crumb and saw a beautiful beach. I am now ten shades darker then when I left NYC. And 6lbs fatter though I am losing it fast..I missed the gym when I was gone. How weird!

I am leaving to go play s few gigs in Northern Italy..Ameno Blues Festival..with Crumb..and then hanging out there for a bit..No more posts for about two weeks! So I leave you with this hodgepodge of pics that have nothing to do with each other.First some graffiti at Mars Bar...I hope they are open past the 15th when I get back..Then during the screening of Raging Bull in Tompkins..Freaking Don King was there introducing the film. He went on for about 45 minutes and it made no sense at all. I love him!

Then some art at Mars and evil voodoo magic behind Horsetrade Theatre on St Marks. I love that gargoyle... The place is in jeopardy, just like everything else I like in NYC..you can donate online to help them stay open.

Then I saw that the piano is still in Tompkins Square Park being enjoyed by everyone. And last but not least, the gayest hardware store around! So, last week or so my two sisters and my friend Sean and I went to see Alison Arngrim perform her one woman show, "Confessions os a Prairie Bitch." She played my idol, Nellie on the show Little House on the Prairie which my sisters and I were obsessed with. She was pretty funny..We wrote out questions which she read on stage and answered..Mine is here but she didn't get to it. It's funnier if you know the infamous Apples episode..

So here are some pics of my older and younger sisters and I..and Sean..Gena got tipsy and broke a glass and we all got our pics with Nellie who seemed slightly frightened by the Brower sisters..Apparently rabid fans of the show are called "Bonnetheads." And she said Nellie would now be referred to as a cunt, not a bitch. I learned a lot at the show..yes I did!

Well I took a video from my cell phone and uploaded it here for the first time. Don't know how it came out..The purse I was carrying was too dainty to hold my usual camera..but some opera group took over the piano and did some Mozart for everyone..Then some live band started playing Beatles tunes by the benches..all this culture while cops are in the park all day harassing people for nothing.

From the no smoking in public places rule..to now your DOG can't sit on a bench with you as those benches are for people to sit on..I mean WTF?! I know they are following orders but even the cops look embarrassed by the inane and kinda scary 1984 type tickets they are handing out..If you are standing, you are loitering. You have to sit a certain way. Without a dog. Or a cigarette. I want my dog to be be smoking a damn cigarette AND crack too while it sleeps on the damn bench! The summer crusties aren't leaving town because of all this..they are all over the city now just wandering.

AnyCops, I am excited to be going to Europe soon where you can ride a unicorn to the moon if you want! I saw the new X-Men movie and it was GREAT! Christ on a bike, am I PMSing the past few days! Even painkillers are not killing the pain. Let it Bleed already, for fuck's sake..That's what The Stones wrote that song about right? Plus, SATAN.

AnyGore, even on not much sleep and in cramp/bitch mode I tried to be productive today. Mailed off a lot of band promo stuff..hung up posters and stickers around town..bothered a film crew and took pics in Tompkins before stooping it for hours at Csquat. Then I wached The Wave. That was my favorite book when I was a kid. They set the movie in Germany, which kinda ruined it for me. They are already smacking us over the head with the theme enough..high school kinds turn into power happy fascists. They didn't need to move it to Germany..We get it. Yeesh.

Soooo...First we have two flyers for the same show..if it's a private event I will crash it. Another lousy punk show I can do without..Then a corn cob pipe that is lying by Gimme Gimme records for days now..WTF!? Won't someone's gramps come by and get it?

Then Howie, my crazy neighbor was throwing all his shit into the hallway today as he cursed and built a new bed frame. IN HIS DAMN UNDERWEAR! AHHH! He had on tidy whitey's and I SAW them and now i'm all fucked up in the head. It's my worst fear come to life. He did leave these two books by my door though. GREAT.

Oh I just feel like babbling on..It's like a million degrees out and I love it! I'm indoors due to a hangover from way too much white wine last night..I went to a comedy show which was fun..Kristen Schaal was there whom I love love love! Then some big shot Lalawood person was having a party there at the bar and I think I made an ass out of myself in front of Paul Rudd, Peter Dinklage, whom I also love love love! And others..I think I am sabotaging my non-career already by being known as "that crazy drunk blonde girl who kept falling down." More power to me!

And speaking of the fame game, my new CD is now out on Redeye and is available on Amazon and all kinds of stores everywhere..they already ordered more CD's and LP's..I think no one dealing with us understands that R. Crumb is really famous and people will buy it just because he plays on it and for the artwork too..I hope it does well! We play in Italy in July with Robert..

Hello hello and zippity do da! I feel a little under the weather so I am blogging on a Friday night..However, I am in a good mood lately with lotsa neat stuff going on..Cd is selling like mad on ebay right now.don't know why..maybe we got a review somewhere we don't know about. Been enjoying Mars Bar still being open and trying to take pics there when I go..met someone I am having a grand time hanging out with..going to Italy soon..all kinds of grooviness so far this spring. I like the hot weather too. Beach!

However, Mars Bar seems to be on the verge of possible shutdown..Who knows when it will happen, but I will be going there as often as I can this month and next. Well, here are some perfectly delightful photos for you all! In honor of the upcoming End of the World on May 21st..I will check out Reverend Billy's show at theater 80 this week..It runs til June I believe..My friend is in it thus I shall get a free ticket! Anyone else going?

Then someone in the Mars Bar bathroom was REALLY playing the lottery a lot! Guess they lost judging by the amount of tickets that were in the garbage, angrily torn up. Sigh..I play too. I want to be rich even though I know I will just buy a unicorn and a hot tub and then will be a pauper again.

The photos of the amazing puke I saw the other night on the street reflect how I feel right now with Aunt Flow being in town. KILL KILL KILL KILL! I turned down some background work tomorrow, where I may have gotten a SAG waiver, due to awful cramps and a small gig at 11pm. I would have to be in brooklyn at 7am. Considering I go to bed at 6am lately, I'd be pulling another all nighter..I actually don't think my body could handle that right now. I'm doubled over in pain and on painkillers. It would be torture. I do want to join SAG, but one waiver won't do it for me. Plus, AFTRA and SAG are merging next year for sure now so i'm not sure if joining SAG for 2,500 would be the right thing to do. What if I get the three waivers, join, and then have to pay AGAIN when they merge? So confusing..Hopefully, How to Make it in America will need more tattooed hipsters and will call me again. I was nice when they texted me to work. Ah..I'm in pain. Womanly pain. Had a fun birthday, full of interesting stuff but am feeling not so good right now. Guess i'm old..

Here are some pics from my cell phone..My great beehive space age hair do when I worked as an extra for a day on Men in Black 3. It was set in 1969 at Warhol's factory. I have never seen such a huge production before and what a madhouse! They had a horse painted up like a Zebra..I was hoping for a unicorn dammit! And the paparazzi were all over. I enjoyed telling bystanders who were gawking that we were filming Sex and the City in Space in 3-D or The Hangover 3-where they actually get hung for being too hungover.

Anyway, they destroyed my poor, fried hair with all this and I took other extra work instead for the week..Then I think I found Ev Grieve's car! Or a big fan of his/hers at least. Heh. And a few funny signs..and what looks like Shepard Fairey stuff..Bah-I'll take Banksy over that guy any day of the week..except the day I made up for myself..EdensDay. Where I get gifts and stuff..Saturday is my damn birthday and I am old as dirt. Wah!

Well, I guess this is a late Zombie Jesus Easter post with assorted other pics I have had on my desktop for weeks now..See how I used the word "desktop.?" Like a REAL person that knows computers! I have no idea what it means but it sounds very pro, no?

Soo..I have been fairly busy..still trying to book some kind of tour but I really have no idea how to do this except to send out cold call type promo stuff to various festivals and such. The "street date" for our new CD with Crumb playing on it is June 6th so we are in a kind of limbo waiting to see how much interest people have in it when Redeye's catalogue comes out. Maybe every store worldwide will order it, or maybe no on will. I have no clue. However, we are working on getting a publicist and some press for it. I hate bothering people for favors or asking for help but I have no idea how to act as a booking agent as this is my first band experience. A few folks have contacted us about playing shows just randomly on their own so maybe that's a good sign that there is a slight buzz surrounding this cd..mainly due to the fact that Robert rarely plays with anyone anymore.

AnyClap, I went by Ray's on Saturday after work and noticed the Pee Phone now is telling us it has no dial tone Nor Ton!! And it looked cleaner with only a HUGE cup of soda there(or maybe pee-i didn't investigate). Now, normal people won't be using it.though I still assume there will be sex, drugs and other forms of debauchery going on in that booth all spring and summer. I hope!

Then there is me kissing Voldemort..Yeah, I named him. The last Potter movie is out soon and I am sad about this. I love those damn books and films. Wonder if Rowling will continue on or start new characters up considering how the series ended..SPOILER ALERT-THEY ALL GO DOWN TO DAYTONA BEACH FOR SPRNG BREAK!

Here are some fun pics of two chihuahua's getting hitched at Lucky Dog bar in brooklyn..Reverend Jen Jr and Taco, Holly Derito's dog..The wedding was amazing! The bride had a dress with a long train and they had Faceboy perform the vows..after the pups kissed and had a toast with water and ate doggie cupcakes. Everyone was dressed to the nines..AND best of all had a small dog tucked under their fancy arms! Many were rescues from Holly's small dog rescue WAGGYTAIL. No gifts were necessary, people just donated to help the group..two love songs were performed..and happily it was nice enough to sit outside and mingle with people and their pets..

A good time for a great cause! Please donate to waggytail if you have the money..they work so very hard to save these dogs that people abuse and abandon..Here is a rather dark video of the ceremony and some photos..Happy Spring Finger everyone!

I have many gross and weird pics on my camera to upload on to here..just been too busy/lazy to do it as of yet! Soon, my pretties..I am ecstatic that it FINALLY feels like spring..I sat in Tompkins for two hours the other day and actually have a tan on my face already. I'll be dark brown with insane freckles in about three beach trips I predict. I love the beach..I am an extra in Men In Black 3 next week so I need to catch up on my bloooogs before I have to stay up for a week shaking a tambourine or something..Then my birthday is May 14th and I will celebrate all week!

These amazing necklaces, headpieces, and what not are made by my friend Buttons(Lavender). I included her sign with her contact info because she makes custom necklaces, bracelets, and more if you tell her your price range and what you want on your fancy stuff!

I, of course, bought the cleopatra flapper looking headpiece which I will wear at shows and..well, probably just everyday once it gets too hot for a bowler. I have plenty of hats..I love ones with veils especially..but since it's taking so long for the weather to get nice..I will probably take a break from hats soon to enjoy the sunshine. If it ever comes. I look retarded in these pics..but just check out the greatness of the piece I bought and the other items she made.

Okay, so I have not written anything for about a week now. Have had some family emergency issues..been busy with gigs..been kinda tired. Plus, lazy. I really don't have any photos of duck fucking. I was just sitting here thinking about the phrase "Fuck a Duck!" Is it just fun to say because it rhymes or did someone actually witness this and yell that out? Or were they giving orders to some sicko to DO that to a duck? Yeah, that is what I am thinking about on a Sunday at 2am. Imagine if I smoked weed? I would never sleep again! Or even less than I already do! How much do ducks sleep anyway? God, just shut up already! You tend to go on and now i'm bored.

So I will post these pics from a dance party I went to at Csquat Saturday night. Everyone who comes into the record store I work at was EXTRA crazy last night so I really needed to relax and drink a beer and dance for about 3 hours. Dance to forget that guy who listened to 67 records, ended up buying 2, and wanted a discount on them. And yes, the Cat Stevens Numbers album is STILL there in case you were wondering. It's going in the window next time I work. I think it steals a little bit of my soul every time that i'm there.

Vell, vell, vell..Here are some snazzy pics I found on my computer internet thingy that makes my eyes hurt. I see someone is bringing back Kilroy! I love that shit..I used to draw it everywhere. It really brings back my days in the war when I took a bullet for...no one. Because I am a pacifist who only dreams of beating the crap out of everyone.

Then this chocolate rig from that bald man place. What. The. Fuck..fuck..fuck..It's like they want me to nod out on sugar in their bathroom! I hate that place. They have a midget working there I heard..They are turning it into a circus little by little and I would rather eat a candy bar or vegan brownies. Their crap is overpriced and annoying.

Sleep Deprivation makes for poor eating habits..

Ah, I've been doing so well at the gym..i am determined to lose the weight i gained over the winter..but I stayed up for about 36 hours straight right about now..and worked as an extra on the show Bored to Death today and ate sugar and junk food to stay awake....Stayed up all night rather then get the hour of sleep I would have gotten due to my insomnia..It was fun and went way into overtime which is good for me moneywise..I know Jonathan Ames through his good friend Mangina and being on the set of his show is really fun..You can just tell everyone likes him and is relaxed. Some sets are just bad vibes all around and everyone is freaking out trying hard not to kill each other. Plus, Zach Galifinakis and Ted Danson are just great. Zach said the same line 40 times and it still cracked everyone up. Crap movies lately or not, Zach is one of my favorite funny men out there now. Between Two Ferns almost rivals Jiminy Glick I think.

So, I need to sleep 20 years tonight and i'll be back to normal..Maybe. Extra work is fun and I can't expect to get lines with no experience..but the Improv at UCB, though not something I may want to keep pursuing, is helping me get over nerves and loosen up for auditions.

AnyLabia, THESE brilliant pics are from the holding for extras which was at a church in brooklyn. It was this great black pride church, with MLK stencils everywhere and almost anarchist slogans hung up..it had these dioramas that portrayed the civil rights movement and a freaking SHRINE to 2Pac! What. The. FUCK!? I had to take some photos..

Here are a few videos from March 26th at Society of Illustrators..We taped the whole show and the audio came out good so I will have some up of Ari Eisenger and Dom Flemons solo stuff next week. What a fun night! Everyone had a good time and I actually may be working on a book deal soon..a mix of the writings on this blog and fashion tips for the weird! Crumb Society of Illustrators Opening Reception.

Well, the opening on March 25th was a total and complete madhouse. I guess Robert is used to it, but i've never actually seen him mobbed by hundreds of fans and paparazzi and pushy, crazy people. There were a lot of cartoonists there that I like..Drew Friedman, Joe Coleman, Bill Griffith and more..I freaking love Joe Coleman's work-it's nuts!

Anyway, here are some pics from the opening..Crumb and a bunch of us hid upstairs to eat dinner while the SOI played bouncer and kept people from coming to the table we were at. I still want fame and the love of the world, but man..Robert could not even eat in peace for a minute! I don't think the SOI ever had a crowd like that especially for work that was not even for sale! The exhibition is up through April I think and is great. People who are fans should check it out. The SOI is a great place, with super nice people running it.

Well, I hope to see more pics and videos from this night soon..Our video camera was in the back and picked up all the crowd noise..Our gig was a lot of fun and everyone sounded awesome. I think people sounded even better last night at our fancy Society of Illustrators show...Everyone was all warmed up and practiced from Jalopy I guess. Here are some photos. You can see they are photos with your eyeballs. If you're blind, I can't help you but you ain't missing much. We have some graffiti in the basement of Csquat..And a damn ping pong table in Tompkins Square Park. When did this get brought in? It has taken the place of the piano that was chained up there over the summer. I love ping pong but there was only the one paddle there plus it was late at night when I saw it. I'm surprised the paddle was there at all..On the black market that would go for a ha'penny at LEAST.

Then a sneaker with a cup in it. People tend to think I set those shots up myself, but really, if I was going to do that i would make it far more weird and interesting. I'm sure someone on St Marks was trying to be funny..or just needed a cup holder badly. I would have made them a cup cozy out of cobwebs and discarded rigs, which are usually found at that spot..

Then that sexy sign that was found defaced like that..it was brought into Csquat of course..and the deep messages that keep appearing at the site of the old Kurve spot, which is turning into fuck knows what now..I hope it's another ramen joint! 2nd Ave REALLY needs more sushi and cafe's! Well, as long as it's not the dreaded Wallmart™ that is rumored to be opening soon somewhere in manhattan. Soon we'll have Shoney's too!

Anyblab, This week should be interesting..yes I will be posting lots of band stuff so BE PREPARED! We have a fun gig at Jalopy thursday..then Crumb's gallery opening Friday, then another gig Saturday with some interviews and WFMU stuff in between. My UCB class was fun and I predict lots of going out drinking with the friends I made there pretty damn soon. I even got a ride home..IN A CAR!!!!!!! Yes, that is exciting to me. People that can drive are like wizards. I just laugh and crash into things.

Here is a video from us playing live on WFMU last month or so..I forget they videotaped it too..Today we played at the Society Of Illustrators for 3 hours for their thursday sketch night. Nice people there..fancy place but they had a bar and a kind of freaky little vibe in there. Nice escape from the morons screaming on St Marks right now. It's like Mardi Gras out there..WTF?! Glad it's over!

All kinds of good news lately..We got distribution on Redeye out of NC..bigger and better than or last distributor! Barnes and Noble already put in a huge order, so our new stuff will be everywhere soon hopefully..in indie record stores too, of course. The Crumbs are coming next week and Robert will be talking about our gig with him and his gallery opening to Associated Press..that is kinda big to get a mention on..those gigs will be so nuts-I can't wait! Plus WFMU guy will be coming over soon to talk with Robert and John about 78's and have us play again..yay!

I always wanted to sing in a good rock/pop band too..If I can make money being in 2 bands, and write my book.and get some acting gigs I will be living the life I want to live. I start improv 101 this monday at UCB so i'll have plenty to blog about this week! Now I just need my neighbor to camp out in the hallway again so I can rest easy. I miss him and wonder if he's thinking about me..sniff..

Well, this week has been fucked up..between the earthquake, tsunami, and now possible radiation hazards we could all be doomed. Bad enough Japan is in shambles, now there is possible danger of radiation turning everyone into mutants..I have been in touch with people I know in Hawaii and Alaska and on the west coast. No one knows what's going on.Japanese officials say not to panic which make me want to panic. UGH.

But may as well live it up before I grow a tail..went to a show last night in bushwick-here's my friend Shayne being forced to dance by several gingers, my friend Vairame in her new hat..and these kinda annoying Dream Boyfriend flyers that have sprouted up everywhere. Of course, I called and left a drunken message on their machine.

I have some shows coming up soon-including one on St Patrick's Day where we play for 3 hours while people sketch nude models at the Society of Illustrators. Heh! Then the ones with Crumb after that..no luck booking a tour or any festivals yet-or getting new distribution but we have some good leads. I hope!

I am FINALLY over being sick with that flu shit that's been going around. Ten days straight I literally felt like I was dying, though I rested every day and slept ten hours every night. I had one beer tonight and felt tipsy. Usually it takes two! Now I can be an even cheaper Jew!

All kinds of stuff happening and I'm glad i'm better in time for it all. Saw my friend Heather's play Night Moves tonight-well, she was in it anyway and very good! Went with The Mangina and had fun..Then tried to catch Aziz Ansari and maybe Zach Galifinakis whom I love at another show but got there too late. Bah..I get to work in the record store all weekend-whee! If that Cat Stevens Numerology album is still there I am going to freak out...No matter how enticing I try to make it look-No one will buy it! I'm putting it in the window I think..

Monday I have an audition for some comedy sketch pilot show..I wish I had enough stuff for a reel..All I have are a few scenes with no lines..Maybe I can make an old timey silent film reel. My new album is doing well on ebay and Amazon but we lost our distribution. Bad move for them I think. Robert Crumb plays on ten tracks on this..I don't think it will be hard to find someone to take it on..But for now, that means it's not in any stores or music shops. Kinda sucks considering its going to get reviewed in a bunch of magazines soon and no one can find the thing..

Anyway..Lots of gigs coming up and I hope we find someone else soon to get the new disc out there.These pics are of Gregory and I at Mars Bar which is still open for now..A GREAT book I found at a thrift store for only 50 cents! AND my crazy neighbor who is having a lot of "episodes" lately..this is the desk he set up in the hallway today. It was right in front of my apartment..He said he was waiting for the computer tech guy and had to be out there. No one could get to their apartments on the other side..Haw! Later on, when I went out for the night, the tech guy was sitting at the desk and my neighbor was LAYING UNDER IT. I want to start a whole blog about him. I am getting obsessed with how crazy he is becoming. I can't wait til a tent appears in front of my door!
